The First Day of the Rest of Your Life

This dark comedy follows eight characters, all facing their own hardships and struggles. See how these very different people are all very much the same and how their lives intersect with each other.

Gareth, a cheap, sleazy con-man, jobless, friendless, chased by loan sharks, rejected by women, but he never stops trying to dig himself out of the mess he's created, whether it be the right-way or the wrong-way, he never stops trying.

Brent is struggling to deal with a motorbike accident that has left him in a wheelchair, while also struggling with commitment to his long-time girlfriend. Ashley, a massage therapist by trade.

Clare is a single mother with two young boys. She struggles to find work and keep a roof over their heads. She is not one to give up without a fight, but with a lack of job prospects, a lying, cheating, alcoholic ex-husband and swearing children, can she pull it all together?

Pauline is a middle-aged bored, alcoholic housewife, trying to find some excitement in her monotonous life. She's looking for something extra, but not sure what it is, where to find it, or how to get it.

Cory is trying to make a fresh start of his life after spending the last eight and a half years in prison. But being an ex-con, doesn't find it easy to adjust and keeping his nose clean, well that may prove to be too much of a challenge for him.

Tod is a depressed, out of work, loveless man, who is just looking for a fair go. His girlfriend, Stacey, has left him for another man, a decision that will affect them both greatly.

Kimberly is an out of work and out of luck model/actress, she is now realising how tough and harsh life can be, with the road ahead littered with obstacles, not least of which, the fact she is now pregnant.

While Hagup is an illegal immigrant from Lebanon trying to stay in the country and stay out of trouble as best he can, but with the Immigration Department and Police hot on his tail, he may find it hard to slip under the radar.

These miss-fit characters end up working together at a Telemarketing office, but not all can succeed in this cut throat world that we live in.

The Diaries of the Stoned Lovers

This humorous and light hearted script, about romantic heartbreak, depression and drug-taking will scare the socks off anyone who dares to hope for a happy ending in matters of love, lust and making out with the woman of your dreams.  Ex-pat Aussie Matt has settled down to a life of serious partying, drinking and smoking with his Canadian mates while more or less managing a Backpacker Hostel in Edmonton.  This dedicated lifestyle is threatened when he bumps into Lauren in the local bar.  Sparks immediately fly between Matt and this rough but attractive red head.  Fun, a few beers and a night together promise wonders to come, but next morning Matt finds her gone.  The cycle repeats several days later.

Smitten and confused, Matt probes further and discovers that there's more to Lauren than her party girl image suggests.  She is a single mother to two young boys, struggling to break free from an abusive relationship. And now Matt has become part of the equation, because he cares.
